Inworld AI provides a creative suite for building AI characters to populate immersive realities including the metaverse, VR/AR, games, and virtual worlds.
Building character AI is complex and takes a great deal of specialization. Our aim at Inworld is to perform the required heavy lifting. We want to enable partners and creators to leverage our platform to build and deploy AI characters for a variety of use cases.
We are a team of experts that have pioneered conversational AI platforms and generative models at API.AI (Dialogflow), Google and DeepMind. We are continuing to build out our incredibly talented team, with experts in generative language models, emotions, speech synthesis, multimodal interaction, design, and 3D animation.
Prior to Inworld, Ilya co-founded API.AI (now known as Google Dialogflow), a developer platform for building conversational experiences, and served as its CEO before Google acquired the company in 2016. The company also built Assistant.ai, the highest rated independent voice assistant in the world with 40M+ users. Ilya was also the Founding Head of the Google Assistant Investments program at Google. Ilya’s favorite video games are Prehistorik 2, HoMM3 and CS:GO.
Michael has extensive experience in leading AI teams and has played a pivotal role in the development of Google Dialogflow. A true visionary, Michael has a passion for gaming and is determined to bring the world of VR to life with Inworld AI. His favorite games include the Legend of Zelda series which he hopes to one day see made into a VR game.
Kylan has a background turning advanced AI into products that naturally interact with humans. He came from DeepMind, where he led product for Conversational AI and Generative Models. Prior, Kylan worked on enterprise Machine Learning projects at Bain & Company. Kylan studied at the University of Cambridge and McGill University, and when he’s not chatting with AI enjoys ultra running, mountaineering, and yoga. His favorite video games are Fable and Assassin’s Creed (and all Pokemon games… shhh).
Chief Creative Officer
John Gaeta is a legendary designer and inventor best known for his Academy Award-winning work on The Matrix trilogy. He has pioneered a spectrum of emergent platform formats such as Bullet Time, Universal Capture(ie. Volcap), HoloCinema, Magicverse and more. Previously, Gaeta held positions as the SVP Creative Strategy at Magic Leap and the Executive Creative Director and Co-founder of Lucasfilm/ILMXLAB. He advises highest tier creative / platform companies and leaders. Recently, Gaeta was the Creative Executive Producer of the groundbreaking Matrix Awakens UE5 demonstration of state of the art building blocks of the Metaverse.
For seven years Alesya has been hiring top talents and scaling distributed teams with expertise in high-volume full-cycle recruitment. Prior to Inworld, Alesya was Head of HR in a global technology company with a focus on Machine Learning, Edge AI, and Internet of Things. Alesya’s favorite video game is Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
Director of Engineering
Evgenii is a hands-on engineering lead. His work was integral to the foundational platform for API.AI (now known as Google Cloud Dialogflow). Evgenii later led engineering for the Google Cloud Contact Center AI consoles. He’s been a passionate gamer since childhood and loves indie titles.
Head of Partnerships
Florin’s career has focused on the intersection of tech, media and entertainment. Prior to Inworld, he was part of Sony Music’s venture capital and strategy team, investing in startups across the music industry. Before Sony Music, Florin worked in tech, media and telecom investment banking at Credit Suisse. He holds an MBA from Stanford and is an avid tennis player and EDM producer. He was first introduced to video games by his father, George, by way of the classic strategy game Empire Earth.
Director of Business Operations
For the last 17 years, Irina has led finance, accounting, and business operations for tech-forward consulting companies. Most recently, Irina was Director of Business Operations at Amida Technology Solutions and was focused on creating a seamless and well functioning back office. Irina loves playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion and getting lost in Breath of the Wild.
VP of Marketing
Monica has spent 15 years working with startups, developer, and B2B businesses with expertise in product, programs, partnership, brand, and digital marketing. Monica was a partner at GV, where she advised startups on building marketing organizations, developing go-to-market strategy, and telling brand stories. Prior to that, she led the global developer marketing team at Google, and worked on product marketing teams in London, Tokyo, and Sydney. Monica loves metroidvanias like Hollow Knight and Guacamelee, as well as the open worlds of Elden Ring and Breath of the Wild.
